It is important to put this video in our rundown, if for no other reason than to introduce you to these artists, or remind you (pun intended) how important it is to the positive evolution of hip hop that artists like these are seen and heard. The enjoyable vibe and positive lyrics, hopeful without being preachy, are similar to material often delivered by both of these two groups. It was because of the conscious and community-minded Rebel Diaz that we first witnessed The Reminders, and then after witnessing them a second time, at an absolutely show-stopping performance during 2011’s CMJ music festivals, we promised Big Samir and Aja Black we would give them well-deserved mention on our e-pages.
