Longtime readers will recognize Homeboy Sandman from our e-pages, and interviews and appearances on our sister outlet, The NY Hip Hop Report radio program. Aside from delivering often awe-inspiring projects of his own, the Queens representative and Stones Throw Records recording artist has jumped on a plethora of songs with colleagues, some known to the world, and some known to a privileged few. In either case, Boy Sand lends his talent with well thought-out lyrics and a passionate delivery, leaving nothing behind, no matter who he’s tag-teaming the track with.
The Bronx’s DJ Polarity, himself a fixture on the indie NYC hip hop scene, has compiled a great collection these past features into the 35-track long Guest Who?. Collaborators include artists such as KRS-One, Das Racist, Action Bronson, El Da Sensei, Kalae All Day, MegaRan, Evitan (Dres & Jarobi) and many others.
Fans of Homeboy Sandman will enjoy hearing his contributions to these tracks for sure, with the added bonus of possibly discovering a previously unknown MC or two.
