Angel Haze – Dirty Gold [Album Release/Stream]

Angel Haze, who made waves with her 2012 mixtape Reservation, added to her lore with a recent record-label rebellion, after said label reportedly pushed back the release of her debut album, Dirty Gold.

In return, the fiery spittress decided to take matters into her own e-hands, leaking the entire project to Soundcloud. While the leak was only live for a short period of time, the squeaky wheel got the grease, and Dirty Gold, which had been pushed back to a March, 2014 release date, was rejiggered to drop December 30, 2013.

Angel Haze, a New Yorker by way of Michigan, has excited listeners with her often-personal, introspective and highly lyrical approach to her music, perhaps best exemplified on her reworking of Eminem’s “Cleaning Out My Closet,” where she detailed sexual abuse in a profound manner.
