Classy and legendary songstress Sade has been notoriously reluctant with allowing rappers to officially jump on any of her tracks, but Jay-Z was allowed the honor, sharing the spotlight on the remix of her “The Moon and the Sky,” from her outstanding 2010 release Soldier of Love.
The Noah “40” Shebib-produced remix, flips the track a bit to give it a slightly rougher edge, and Jay-Z lays down a relationship-nostalgia verse that vibes with the subject matter.
The track is to appear on Sade’s The Ultimate Collection album which is set to be released May 3. Sade: The Ultimate Collection can be preorded now.
Overall, the remix is an acceptable take on the song, though at first impression, we may actually still favor the original. We’ll see how we feel a few replays in.
