50 Cent, who is making mainstream and mogul moves lately, with an appearance on Conan and his continuous promotion of his Sleek headphones, is helping craft equally compelling music, both behind the desk and behind the mic, as aptly demonstrated by his recent collaboration with G-NOTE Records recording artist Governor, and displayed visually in the video for “Here We Go Again.”
A bouncy, mid-tempo joint, “Here We Go Again” finds 50 Cent riding the rhythm and talking the talk in a way that just slightly reminds you of a younger, hungrier 50 Cent, without totally sacrificing his charisma-tinged, softer-spoken delivery, which better fits the vibe of the song, a love-going-wrong narrative.
The chorus for “Here We Go Again” could even be a bit of a metaphor for both fans and enemies of 50 Cent, fans often wishing 50 would relinquish his need for dramatic confrontation and simply make good music again, consistantly, while enemies have proven that while the mogul might not always be able to take them out, no one has yet been able to slow down Curtis Jackson much either.
In any event, the song is pretty smooth, and should go over well in whips, clubs and iPods. Whatcha think?
