Nicki Minaj performed “Moment 4 Life,” her current single, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this morning, a big mainstream step for the Queens-bred hip hop woman-of-the-hour.

Rocking a platinum wig, perhaps to signify the recent achievement of Pink Friday reaching platinum status, Nicki Minaj treated Ellen’s audience to an upbeat Drake-less performance, flanked by two similarly topped dancers, backup singers and a live band.

Nicki Minaj was named one of our year-end “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck.” She has recently been filming videos for “Fly” and “Moment 4 Life,” and has been seen in the leaked video for Kanye West’s monster hit “Monster.” Nicki Minaj also just covered V Magazine.
