It’s a little out of our jurisdiction, but there were a couple of notable events at last night’s Eminem/Jay-Z co-concert at Comerica Park in Detroit. Perusing the blogs and news reports this morning, we see that Eminem brought 50 Cent to the stage at last night mega-event, as Fif seemed to delight the crowd with a few of his verses, including his duet with Marshall, “Patiently Waiting” as well as “I Get Money,” and “In The Club”.
Jay-Z poignantly dedicated a large amount of his set to musicians who have passed away, including Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, as well as Aaliyah and Proof of D12, both with Detroit roots. Eminem followed the Brooklyn icon with a blistering set of his own, running through an eclectic mix of his own hits, bringing out several artists to accompany him, and seemingly, generally thrilling his hometown crowd with his performance.
Other notable appearances include B.O.B., Dr. Dre, D12, Trick Trick, Young Jeezy and Drake. The highly anticipated concert will hold it’s New York counterpart on September 13 at Yankee Stadium, the first in the new venue. That show has been long sold out.
Here is a little recap of recaps, to help you save some typing time with Google.
