Jay-Z has teamed up with the NY Yankees, who will be releasing a limited edition line of co-branded clothing merchandise, emblazoned with Jay-Z’s logo. The merchandise will go on sale starting August 30, and continue until the September 13 & 14 concerts at Yankee Stadium with Eminem.
Although we have had some issue with the adoption of “Empire State of Mind” as an unofficial anthem for New York City, and the Yankees, the city and team have expressed allegiance with Jay-Z in the past, as he has performed for several NYC and Yankee-related events.
If Jay hadn’t already made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can, he can at least get some extra paper from saying he did, to go along from income from his upcoming book release. Jay-Z recently topped Forbes‘ list of top hip hop moneymakers, listed at earning $35 million.
