Ciph Diggy – New Music, New LP, Album Release Event 9/20

Hip hoppers thirsty for a mix of style and substance, charisma and consciousness, intellect and, well, irie, grab this “Thirst Quencher,” pack your bags and get ready to join Brooklyn’s Ciph Diggy on his Return To Fronto Island.

The follow up to August’s reggae-infused Travelers Guide to Fronto Island, this project is the sophomore effort from Ciph Diggy, his first solo project since his stint in popular duo Sleepwalkas. Return To Fronto Island will musically maintain the Caribbean-themed vibe begun in Travelers Guide, a fully mixed “pre-release album” hosted by DJ Dynamite.

“Thirst Quencher” sets the tone nicely, as Ciph Diggy glides over the smoothed out production, orchestrated by Queens’ DJ Scadeles. Based on the tracks on Traveler’s Guide, we expect Return will continue with this fusion, which works, as in most cases Ciph Diggy sounds right at home in this type of vibe.

Ciph Diggy will celebrate the release of Return to Fronto Island on September 20, at the The Alchemical Theater Laboratory, at 137 W. 14th St. beginning at 8pm. The event will be hosted by Conscious and TastyKeish, both hosts of the monthly Bondfire concert series, currently on indefinite hiatus. Also performing: Top $ Raz.
