The 2012 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is quickly approaching, and the run-up to this yearly extravaganza continues in full force as the Show & Prove competition rolls on, with artists competing for the top spot, which will offer them the opportunity to rock in front of thousands on the main stage at the Festival.
April’s first round, a tight competition between JuS, JimmYAge, Kounsel and Rasheed Chappell saw Rasheed Chappell take the top spot with a sharp performance.
The second of three preliminaries will feature performances by Tamara Davidson, 330, Pro’Verb, and D Strong, at Brooklyn’s Public Assembly on Thursday, May 10. Far Rockaway’s Top $ Raz will host again.
Show & Prove 2012 is presented in conjunction with Brooklyn Bodega and KevinNottingham.com. Artists interested in performing in the third and final round, submissions are being accepted through sonicbids.
The Show & Prove preliminary will follow another Brooklyn Bodega event, part of their BEI program, Brooklyn Culture: Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Video Music Box and MoCADA. Check our NY-area hip hop events calendar for more information.
