Hot 97 sets the stage for its annual Summer Jam concert extravaganza, this year taking place June 3, 2012 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The Hot 97 Summer Jam 2012 lineup, the typical assortment of A-list mainstream artists, was announced over the Hot 97 airwaves on May 3.
Expected to appear are hip hop heavyweights such as Rick Ross, DJ Khaled & Friends, Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka and Wale as well as J. Cole, Meek Mill, Big Sean and Tyga. The New York contingent consists of Nicki Minaj, Maino and French Montana.
R&B heartthrob Trey Songz and reggae’s Mavado round out the Summer Jam lineup.
As usual, Hot 97 will host their mini-concert, the Summer Jam Festival Pre-Show with performances expected by Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, School Boy Q and Big K.R.I.T.
For both stages, additional artists are likely to be announced as the concert date approaches. Summer Jam is notorious for surprise guests and large-scale antics, befitting the area’s largest hip hop concert event.
