We originally posted Method Man’s video/extended commercial as a BirthplaceMag Quickie, but it really deserves a more official recognition. The song and video, which depicts Method Man and a slew of Sour Patch Kid troublemakers, sounds like it should be watered-down, corporate bulls–t rap, but we’ll be damned.. It’s… Dare we say… Kinda hot.
What seemingly starts out as a simple commercial for Sour Patch Kids, segues into “World Gone Sour (The Lost Kids)”, a flavorful, full-fledged music video over a delicious-sounding track, starring Meth, a couple of yummy background dancers, and the sour-puss candies, come to life to start a little trouble.
The ad agency Mother NY is responsible for the sonically tasty collaboration, and aside from the commercials and the viral video, the song will appear on a Sour Patch Kids video game. The Sour Patch Kids brand has been utilizing Facebook and other social media platforms to increase their visibility and consumer interaction, and Method Man’s involvement has certainly caught many people’s attention.
