Nicki Minaj, named one of Birthplace Magazine’s 2010 year-end “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck,” and recent recipient of multiple 2010 New York Music Awards, achieved another major mainstream milestone, performing on an episode of Dancing With The Stars. Nicki Minaj, fresh off her tour with Young Money mogul Lil Wayne, appeared in a muted-for-her outfit and wig, while Dancing cast members performed on stage, as is customary for appearances on the show.

Nicki Minaj performs Moment 4 Life on Dancing With The Stars - VideoNicki Minaj is between tours, having finished up the I Am Music II tour and awaiting the start of the Femme Fatale tour with pop veteran Britney Spears. That tour begins June 17 in Sacramento, California, with Nicki Minaj getting the nod after original tourmate Enrique Iglesias pulled out.

With multiple mainstream appearances in the past year, including photo spreads for Elle magazine and and appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Minaj continues to demonstrate all the makings of a long-term, pop/rap superstar. Despite the divisiveness her name often conjures, and the bitter ramblings from musical rivals such as Lil Kim (again), Nicki Minaj’s stock continues to rise in 2011.
