Mos Def, Colin Hanks Join Cast of Dexter

Multi-talented Brooklyn MC Mos Def, will be joining the cast of the hugely popular Showtime series Dexter, appearing in several episodes in the upcoming sixth season of the show.

Dexter: Mos Def, Colin Hanks join cast of Showtime seriesMos Def has done a good job over the years of advancing his acting career while doing music. As an actor, he is probably best known for his role as Ford Prefect in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, and alongside Bruce Willis in the 2006 drama 16 Blocks.

Mos Def also appeared in commercials throughout in his career, and TV show appearances include House and The Boondocks.

A solo artist, as well as member of Black Star with fellow Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli, Mos Def has maintained a steady music career, dropping largely independent releases over the years, including a more experimental, rock-influenced foray with his band, Black Jack Johnson.

Also joining the cast of Dexter for the full season is Colin Hanks, the son of acclaimed Hollywood titan Tom Hanks.
