Sleepwalkas: “Cookie Cutter Cornballs Can’t Cut It” Album Release Party 4/14 at Sullivan Hall

We’ve been waiting for this one.

Sleepwalkas is a two man group consisting of Ciph Diggy and K. Gaines, individually known and respected amongst underground hip hop circles, but together, have lit up many a stage with their infectious energy, bouncy beats and good natured vibe. We’ve featured their work on BirthplaceMag.com a couple times, and seen them rock the crowd a bunch more times, and count ourselves among those anxiously awaiting their anticipated release, Cookie Cutter Cornballs Can’t Cut It.

Sleepwalkas - Cookie Cutter Cornballs Can't Cut It Album Release PartyCCCCCI was, admittedly, a bit delayed, but will finally be ushered in proper with a release party on April 14th at Sullivan Hall, for a show beginning at 10:00 p.m. and undoubtedly rocking heavy until the wee hours. (Um. With these guys, you might want to take Friday off.)

Also performing in support of Sleepwalkas project, another group of energetic live performers, The Smash Mechanics. The album features Sadat X of Brand Nubian fame, LiKWUiD, Homeboy Sandman, Fresh Daily, P.SO, Coole High, Cavalier, DJ M-Tri, Vexed-Lo and Final Outlaw, so you never know who else might be rocking. The well-known, well-liked co-host of A Monthly Bondfire and artist/entrepreneur himself, iAreConsious, will be hosting the event.

Sullivan Hall is at 214 Sullivan Street. The show is 18 and over. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here.

We’ll see you there. No cookie cutter cornballs allowed.

BONUS UPDATE: Just got hit with an exclusive single leak from the album, the 2 Hungry Bros-produced “Wild Nightlife”. (You can cop it for yourself here). Enjoy!
