Grafh Video: “Showing Off Again” (Over Nicki Minaj, Eminem’s “Roman’s Revenge”) [VIDEO]

Grafh video - Showing Off Again (Over Nicki Minaj/Eminem's "Roman's Revenge")Underground New York hip hop journeyman Grafh lays out the video for his take on the Nicki Minaj and Eminem joint, “Roman’s Revenge.” Now I’ve been cool with Grafh’s stuff in the past, as we were both loosely affiliated at one point with the BumSquad DJz crew at one time, so I was always happy to show camraderie, but aside from a couple of joints here and there, and the “Myspace Jumpoff” track, the Blackhand general never could seem to dazzle the general rap audience.

Well, I must have missed this “Showing Off” freestyle when it dropped a lil’ ways back, but now that the video is circulating, I caught it, and dug what I saw/heard.

It’s not a highly produced video (though I sure like one of the special effects, if you know what I mean…), but the Theo Skudra-directed affair is effective, plus the verbal flow is fairly wicked, and Grafh’s playful animation puts a very entertaining spin on the joint. I thought Grafh’s spit was a cleverly crafted, multi-syllabic, lyrical barrage that, quite frankly, caught me a little off guard. In a good way.

I suggest if Grafh was never quite your cup o’ tea, you give this vid a looksee. You might like what he coming with these days.

(And don’t worry homie, this blog (almost) always spells names right.)

Oh, and if you’re wondering fellas, (you are), we’re pretty sure it’s Tehmeena Afzal.
