Joell Ortiz – All I Want Is You + I Won’t Go Broke [Freestyles]

Joell Ortiz continues perfecting the art of spitting-over-other-people’s-tracks, letting loose over Eric B & Rakim’s “I Ain’t No Joke” and over the Miguel ft. J. Cole joint “All I Want Is You”. In some cases, Ortiz blows away the original artists with his own take on their tracks, not necessarily so in these cases, but still as entertainingly listenable as most of his other freestyles.

Joell Ortiz, one of our first “5 Reasons Why NY Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck,” will be performing at the B.B. King Blues Club for (one of) Funkmaster Flex’ birthday bash(es), on August 11, alongside Camron, DJ Premier, Sheek Louch, Shaggy and a rare appearance by Ja Rule. (P.S. Joell Ortiz recently dropped a video for his collaboration with Joe Budden and crooner Novel, “We Don’t Believe You,” also featured on BirthplaceMag.com, and is the subject of a documentary, recently screened at the New York International Latino Film Festival.
