Drake, Jay-Z, Eminem at the OVO Festival Concert, Toronto

Drake headlined his OVO Festival in his hometown of Toronto, Canada last night (Aug. 1), punctuaing the all-day concert with surprise performances from hip hop heavyweights Rick Ross, Eminem and Jay-Z. Jay-Z came out as Drake saluted his hometown with “Run This Town” playing, and Jigga came out and did his parts, to the ecstatic delight of the crowd.

The October’s Very Own Festival follows the recent mega-performance in the area provided by Summer Jam Canada 2010 (which we attended and reported on), also featuring Rick Ross, along with Fabolous, T-Pain and headliner, Busta Rhymes, in nearby Kitchener, providing Ontario-ites a wealth of A-List American hip hop talent to compliment their native star.

Several times during Summer Jam Canada 2010, local DJs and artists gave verbal credit to Drake, for putting Toronto on the map, so to speak, and judging by the enthusiasm of the crowd in the videos (courtesy of RapRadar), the T-Dot hasn’t forsaken their biggest begotten son.
