Usher ft. Jay-Z – Hot Toddy [New Music]

Jay-Z joins Usher for “Hot Toddy,” a (somewhat-typical-sounding) Polow Da Don-produced, mid-tempo, made-for-the-club/strip-club track, off Usher’s upcoming Versus EP. Usher does his Usher thing, while Jay-Z continues from the “Free Mason” chapter of his rhyme book, slinging lots of King/God/Goddess/Queen/Illuminati phrases and metaphors.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing heavenly about this joint.

According to Rap-Up, the female briefly sanging is Esther Dean, not Ciara, who was apparently originally listed to appear on this track. The song was leaked Tuesday night  as a radio rip, seemingly an “exclusive” from WPGC (Washington, DC). Some commenting suggest it sounds unfinished, and we might agree.

Normally, we don’t do radio rips, and would wait for the CD quality version, but we don’t think we’re going to like it much more when the CDQ is available, we’ll just give you this, then get back to covering the good NY-area hip hop stuff that we’re here for.

(ok, fine, the CDQ is available, so here… We still don’t like it that much…)
