The annual Rock The Bells Festival hits New York City as part of its four-city tour on Saturday, August 28, 2010 for an all-day show starting at 2pm. This year, the Guerilla Union organized affair will feature several hip hop icons, performing their seminal albums in their entirety. Joining top veteran acts like Snoop Dogg and the Wu-Tang Clan, will be Lauryn Hill, in a highly anticipated return to the mainstream, even if it was after a bit of suspense filled waiting.
Other favorites to appear will be A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, Slick Rick, KRS One, DJ Premier, Murs & 9th Wonder, Wiz Khalifa, Supernatural, Big Sean, Yelawolf, Clipse, Brother Ali and Immortal Technique. New York’s Hot 97 is helping present the event as well.
Tickets are on sale now, with several “levels” available, ranging from $99 to $409. The show is at Governors Island, and will go on rain, or shine.
