50 Cent – Talk Is Cheap [Retro Fif]

New, and old, 50 Cent. At the same time!

Seen over at Hip-Hop-N-More, “Talk Is Cheap” is a previously unreleased gem from the 50 Cent catalog, apparently pre-lisp, pre-shooting and pre-adoption-of-the-slow-flow. Fif drops some verbal acrobatics on this one, surprising listeners, some who didn’t think “he had it in him.”

Us either.

But, old music is new music when it’s unreleased, so we took a listen, and since it’s not horrible, and kind of interesting, it’s worthy of posting. From the rapid-fire spit, to the smoothed out sample, to the younger-sounding voice, it’s an cool time capsule glimpse at the G-Unit captain’s early days.
