NYOIL, the sometimes-controversial, activist-minded veteran of the NY underground, drops a video to his reinterpretation of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation,” a somewhat more smoothed out vibe than we might be used to from the often bitingly sharp, politically charged lyricist. The song features Shadii on the vocals, and the NYOIL-filmed-directed-and-edited video features DJ Flyygrl and Soria Soy with a guest appearance by Star (the dog).
The last we checked in with him, our Hadasah Ingrid interviewed NYOIL and members of PEMG (Petroleum Empire Media Group), the youth-oriented artistic and business collective he heads up. “NYOIL GONE MAKE IT RIIGHTT” ! THIS IS CLASSIC MAN, VERY MUCH COMPARABLE TO THE ORIGINAL. I WANNA SEE MORE NYOIL AND THIS PEMG THING HE GOT GOING ON!!
