Red Cafe – I’m Ill (Remixes with The Lox, Lloyd Banks, Ryan Leslie and Claudette Ortiz)

Hip hop remix frenzy continues as Red Cafe teams up with The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch) one one remake of “I’m Ill”, and Lloyd Banks, Ryan Leslie with Claudette Ortiz, of City High fame, on another.

The D-Block fueled remix is a continuation of the fierce street hit that has raised Red Cafe’s stock this year.The L.B./R.L./Claudette version injects a bit of an R&B vibe into the mix, with Ortiz introducing the song with a sweet singsong, and Ryan Leslie on the chorus. (Although we would have liked more Claudette and less Ryan Leslie. He does the hook justice. We just like her.)

Multiple remixes of anthemic hip hop songs have been on the rise lately, ignited in part by the explosively contagious “Beamer, Benz or Bentley”, originally dropped by Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana, but spawning a dozen or so versions by artists such as Joell Ortiz, Maino and Warren G.
