Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen Serves Up Hip Hop and Solidarity

Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen Volume 3, Back to Our Roots, will be honoring International Women’s Month by shedding light and creating awareness on Environmental Injustices and Educational Inequalities and their impact on women of color.

Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen will bring together women of color educators, students, environmentalists, djs, emcees, b-girls, poets, visual artists, dancers, healers, pastors, organizers and activists. We will come together through a hip hop showcase to express our solidarity with women’s rights!

The above is taken straight from their website, because honestly, there’s no better way to describe this movement and this event. It takes place Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 2pm-5pm, and will feature performances by the following:

Lah Tere, Patty Dukes, Misnomer(s), Bless Roxwell, Rokafella and B-Girls (All the Ladies Say), GNU, Kalae All Day, LMNOP, Ne Ne Ali, 3XALADYCREW, Aaliyah Ebony Lotus, Unique Mills, Liz Chestang, Shanelle Gabriel, Storm, Knickie D, Talia Taylor, A-FIG MC and the Hostos Lincoln Academy Step Team.
