DJ Envy, who raised radio eyebrows in late 2009 by migrating up the dial from New York hip hop juggernaut Hot 97 to crosstown rival Power 105.1, has been tapped to host Sucker Free Daily and Sucker Free Countdown part of Sucker Free Sundays, as MTV2 “reinvents” the Sucker Free franchise starting Monday, March 15.
The Queens-bred mixtape veteran, is quickly expanding his career outside of the radio box. Aside from the MTV2 gig and his daily radio programs on Power 105 and Sirius XM Satellite Radio, DJ Envy co-produces The Heart of the City, a regular talent showcase in New Jersey and is poised to launch his own iPhone application, in conjunction with technology developers Cariplex Corp.
Sucker Free Daily will air Monday through Thursday at 3pm, Sucker Free Sundays will air each Sunday at 12 noon.
