Brooklyn Bodega – Show & Prove: The Reunion Show – 3/31/2010

Few organizations do more for the advancement of New York area hip hop than Brooklyn Bodega. This multi-faceted organization consists of an online blog/e-magazine, a hip hop advocacy group, internet radio and event planners, presenting the yearly Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival.

One of the ongoing events the Bodega facilitates, is the Show & Prove series, presented in conjunction with YUME Music. This monthly showcase/competition invites “up and coming artists who think they have what it takes to rock the biggest crowds in Brooklyn and New York City, are asked to simply show and prove their skills”. Winners go on to open other Bodega-affiliated events, culminating with the yearly BHHF.

Show & Prove began a year ago, and has highlighted such talent as Brown Bag All Stars, brokn englsh, Chlidren Of The Night, Kalae All Day and St. Joe Louis. These alumni have gone on to grace many other stages in and out of the NYC area, but are coming back for a reunion show Wednesday, March 31 at Public Assembly, in Williamsburg.
