Armageddon is here! No, no, not the second-coming, Judgment Day kind. That would be silly of us to be writing about here, on a NY hip-hop website, wouldn’t it? What I mean is Armageddon, the Terror-Squad-affiliate from a while back. (One of the ones who signed a Terror Squad poster I got a while back, who had every signature pretty much except Big Pun, who died a couple of years later and was really the only autograph I would have liked to have, but I digress)…
According to the email:
“Its been a few years since the masses heard from Armageddon, but that wait is now over. He has stepped away from the once infamous “Terror Squad” crew while still remaining cool with long-time group mates Fat Joe and Prospect. Armageddon has ventured onto his own with a solo album release, “The Journal Vol. 1″, due out February 9th 2010 on Geddy Music. Here is the first single, “Its Over”, a head banging track with a detrimental flow directed at any washed up artists that don’t have the heart or lyrical skill to prosper the integrity of this rap game.”
Um. We’re not quite sure detrimental is the right word in this context. I mean, I understand, causing harm, damaging, etc., but normally it’s thought of as self-infliction. Like, smoking is detrimental to your health, unprotected sex can be detrimental to your no-no-zone, etc.
Then again, upon first listen, maybe it IS correct, ironically.. (Although we’re ok with the “head banging” track part).
Again, for you all to decide:
