Hip hop artist Method Man surrendered on Staten Island this morning on charges of failing to pay taxes for four years. The 38-year old artist, whose real name is Clifford Smith, did not pay any taxes for four years, according to prosecutors. He will be arraigned later today. According to the D.A.’s office, Smith owes $32,799 in taxes, a total that does not include fees or penalties. He was charged with failure to pay personal income tax and earnings, as well as misdemeanor failure to pay taxes. Smith will be arraigned at Staten Island Criminal Court later today. He faces a maximum of four years behind bars.
