Judging from a bunch of comments on a bunch of blogs that also posted this song, not a lot of people know who these cats are. Well, they are The Closers, consisting of Shabaam Sahdeeq (BK), Red Eye (QNS) and a production duo, Thorotracks (QNS). “East Coast Renaissance” is the fourth drop from The Closers’ upcoming release The Bullpen Sessionz, and features Reks (ALL OVER). It’s one of those somewhat-repetitive, boom-bap, sample-chopped, weed-smoke tracks with vocal cuts in the break that definitely make you think of East Coast hip-hop, and provides ample fuel to help fire up a renaissance. We like, and will be checking for other joints by this crew.
