Finding Nero: 16-year-old Queens/Harlem Lyricist Bubbling

neroNero, currently residing in Harlem, is 16. It appears as if he has a pretty snazzy flow. Likes to spit over ’90s hip-hop tracks (Redman’s Funkorama, Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s T.R.O.Y.) so we like the young kid/old soul thing. He’s vaguely reminiscent of Charles Hamilton if Charles Hamilton wasn’t so Charles Hamiltony. Which is a good thing. Anyway, check the vids below, and check his interview with HipHopAtLunch.com, which is where we came across him.

From HipHopAtLunch:

Unlike other young artists, who all too often use their time on the mic to create dance songs or meaningless commercial music, Nero shows us that he has a real love and respect for hip hop culture. This love for hip hop is apparent in the title track off of the Alive and Vibrant: Relive the Moment mixtape, “Alive and Vibrant.”
